Helping you feel better about your body and your life

What is Physical Therapy?

As physical therapist (PT) with 27 years of experience, I have had many opportunities to find out what really works.

In my opinion, I have seen much better results when PT worked with patient one-on-one, same PT with same patient for at least 30 – 45 minutes per session.  This is the model of physical therapy that I practice.

I do have a very extensive training in manual medicine (hands-on-therapy totally different from a therapeutic massage).

I have studied and learned from the best in the field. The neurophysiological approach I have learnt from  Vladimir Janda, MD and Karel Lewit, MD, DSc – professors at Charles University, Europe. The osteopathic methods I had the pleasure and opportunity to learn from Philip Greenman, DO and Alan Jacob, DO – professors at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

How does it work?

First, I evaluate your body. I check how it moves and establish where and why the stress accumulates in your body. These points of accumulation are most likely to be in trouble.
I can provide you with the manual medicine treatment to speed up recovery. Then, I can educate you on  therapeutic exercises. They are simple but effective because are specifically made for your problem. And every person usually has slightly different issues.

How does it feel?

Most patients express improvements in:
  • relief of pain and other symptoms with manual medicine and individualized physical therapy;
  • understanding why the pain or other symptoms are there;
  • knowing how to control pain from coming back;
  • understanding which muscles have tendency to become weak or tight;
  • stress self-management and muscle self-relaxation;
  • appreciating many practical ways to do home exercise program without taking too much time from very busy schedules.
